The Pitt's and Spitt's smokers, which are hand-crafted in Houston Texas, are structured so the meat is cooked in the grill area away from the flame. This cooking method enhances the overall seasoning of the meat and protects against over charring. A firebox is attached on the side of the unit and provides the necessary heat to smoke the meat. Pitt's and Spitt's guarantees that the firebox will last a lifetime against burnout. Their popularity continues to grow, as in the 1991 Houston Area Championship Cook-Off, more than 50 entrants used a Pitt's and Spitt's BBQ Pit and 2009 looks to be even more promising.
